The Danville Fire Department is proud to announce that Division Chief K-9 Maggie and her handler, Troy Clements, have successfully recertified through CADA during its annual testing and conference, held this year in Savannah, Georgia.
Maggie completed an extremely rigorous five-station certification that tested her ability to detect ignitable liquids through a daisy-wheel test, pinpoint accuracy, contaminated clothing identification, an outdoor area search, and a search of five different burn rooms. CADA officials advised that this year's building search was one of the most challenging tests administered in the organization's 35-year history.
Not only did Maggie successfully complete the testing—she placed #1 in her division in the building search!
Maggie's work extends far beyond Danville. She assists fire departments and investigators throughout Indiana and, in just two years of service, has worked cases in more than eight states.
Maggie will celebrate her 3rd birthday on October 30, 2026, and she has already built an impressive record of service.
Please join us in congratulating Maggie and Troy on their recertification and outstanding performance. We are incredibly proud to have this team representing the Danville Fire Department!
