You'll learn to identify native plants, then get hands-on restoring this pollinator haven.
You'll help mark existing vegetation for preservation, then dig and pot plants for safekeeping while the site is cleared and replanted.
No experience needed; just curiosity and willingness to dig in!
Bring a picnic lunch and a refillable water bottle. Coffee, drinks, and snacks will be provided.
Children are welcome. This event will be held outdoors near a pond; children will require close supervision.

Josh Arrants, nationally renowned naturalist, will be at Kalmia Gardens on May 9th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a nature study day. From plants to spiders, snakes to birds, and everything in between, the serendipity of Mother Nature herself will inspire and delight, with Josh serving as guide. The day will begin with a presentation, break for a group lunch, and conclude with a tour of the grounds, where everything from local ecology to cultural history will be explored.

Attendees are asked to bring comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for an outdoor hike. The hike will include inclines and declines on uneven and unpaved terrain.

Tickets are on sale now for $75 (plus credit card fees, if paying by credit card) and include lunch. Space is limited and we anticipate this will sell out fast! To learn more, please visit our event page kalmiagardens.org/events
