Today, at approximately 1pm an incident occurred in downtown David City in which a David City Police Officer, while on foot, sustained minor injuries after he was struck by the side mirror of a moving vehicle which was believed to have been involved in fraudulent activity at a local bank. We are thankful this officer only received minor injuries and was treated and released from Butler County Healthcare. The vehicle was apprehended by Seward County deputies and occupants are being housed at the Butler County Dentention Center. We want to thank Seward County Sheriff's Office, Butler County Sheriffs Office, Nebraska State Patrol, staff at Butler County Healthcare, and Butler County Communications for their assistance in the apprehension of these two individuals as well as making sure our officer was not seriously injured.
