Summer is a good time to control invasive plants. In this case, Tamarisk ("salt cedar").

Our summer interns have started working! They will help us throughout the summer to deal with infrastructure repair and fabrication work, trail maintenance, littering and vandalism issues as well as invasive plants control and restoration. If you see someone littering, vandalizing or having an open flame fire on the Reserve please call (530) 752-1230 that is the UCD Dispatch (fire and police - our internal number for 911). Our Reserve is a unique and beautiful place a few steps away from Davis. Please help us keep it this way for everyone's enjoyment!

Please do not gather in groups on the Reserve and follow the cov-19 order especially social distancing. If you see group gathering (especially this weekend), please contact the police department.
"The Yolo County Public Health Officer has ordered all Yolo County residents to shelter in place until May 1, 2020. Furthermore, all travel in Yolo County is limited to carrying out essential business. The Yolo County Law Enforcement Agencies continue to remind people that compliance with these orders is essential to limiting the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

Although we have seen substantial compliance with the orders, law enforcement has seen an increase in the number of complaints regarding large gatherings and businesses failing to follow the rules established by the Public Health Officer. These violations threaten our communities and we are asking all residents to please do everything they can to comply with the shelter in place order until this crisis is contained. Initially our efforts primarily focused on educating our communities regarding the importance of following the restrictions. We would like to remind everyone that failing to follow these orders may result in arrest or citation with a punishment of up to 90 days in jail and/or a fine between $50 and $1,000. Each day of violation is a separate offense and may result in additional jail time and/or fines.

We are aware that the shelter in place orders are disruptive to our daily lives and businesses, and may also result in severe loss to everyone. Nevertheless, following these orders will reduce risk and save lives; we continue to ask everyone to help us accomplish that."
