The 12th annual Davis Pride will bring a month of events to celebrate and support the local LGBTQ+ community, with Davis PrideFest, a fun run, trivia, and the annual comedy night.

The month-long celebration will start with PrideFest; this family-friendly event features a music festival, community vendors, food trucks, drinks, and a drag r***e.

Total Recall, the Sacramento-based ‘90s and 2000s rock cover band, will co-headline the music festival, bringing their passion for alternative, pop punk and rock to the stage. Joining them as a co-headliner will be local favorite Bamba Fried Rice, a nine member band that plays music based in Latin genres ranging from salsa to ska.

Returning musical performers include the Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus, Davis-based community band Noise Violation, and positive and uplifting rap group Matthew Balling and friends. The Q-Rated Dance Company will also perform, and there will be a showcase by Yolo Line Dance. Closing out the night are the crowd favorite local queens and kings of the drag r***e.

Repost Pence Gallery:

Call to artists! Our Night Market is back on June 12, 6-9 PM. The Pence’s Night Market is a pop-up market during the 2nd Friday ArtAbout artwalk that invites young visual artists, ages 16-25, to display and sell their work inside the gallery, ranging from prints and paintings, to ceramics and jewelry.

It’s free to apply, and applications are due on May 24 by 5 PM. Accepted artists will be required to pay a $35 participation fee (free for Pence Members). For the event, artists must bring their own table to display their artwork, but the Pence will provide chairs. All art sales are handled by participants, and all proceeds go directly to the artist.

Repost UC Davis Humanities Institute:

The Davis Humanities Institute (DHI) fosters research and collaborations within and beyond the humanities and arts, empowering scholars, students, and communities to engage with the most pressing global and local challenges.

Every year, the DHI awards Faculty Research Fellowships (FRFs) to a cohort of faculty working across academic disciplines and leveraging humanities and arts methodology to tackle critical or underexamined questions.

Join them for an informal conversation with this year's Faculty Research Fellows, for unique insights into their scholarship and creative process. A Q&A and reception will follow the conversation.

The event is free and open to all. Register at dhi.ucdavis.edu.
