Today is National Custodian Day! Shout outs and cheers for Mr. Paul and Mr. Oscar. These two worked hard over the summer to get our campus student-ready and continue to keep us going every day. Thank you for all that you do!

Learning in the wild! Ms. Greave's science classes took walking field trips to Mace Ranch Park today as part of their recent birding unit. Students looked to identify bird species native to our own Korematsu backyard.

The DJUSD Values in Action Awards are back!

The Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD) is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and community engagement.

Do you know someone within the Korematsu community who has made outstanding contributions andh has "gone above and beyond" to support and enhance the work of promoting the fulfillment of our Strategic Plan and DJUSD Graduate Profile? Let's take some time to celebrate them! This program seeks to recognize the efforts of students, staff, parents/guardians/caregivers, and community partners in advancing the core values and goals of the DJUSD.

Year two of the DJUSD “Know better. Do better. Be better” pledge is in full swing at Korematsu. It was all HANDS (and paws) on deck this week as we completed our new mural committing to our ongoing work to be upstanders like our school’s namesake. You can learn more about the district’s pledge and continuing work to combat dehumanizing language, symbols, and actions in our community here: https://www.djusd.net/cms/one.aspx?portalId=117173&pageId=222404370

Our first Speak Up Assembly of the year is in the books! This month we are highlighting Hispanic Heritage Month. Students learned about some "out of this world" Hispanic-Americans. We look forward to seeing what else our students learn over the next month.

Thanks to our PTO and volunteers who pedaled the carousel this past weekend at the Davis Farmer’s Market! We raised close to $400 for our school programs.

Donations are still being collected through our annual membership drive: https://korematsupto.org/join/

Don’t forget to head over to the farmers market tomorrow 8/29 for our meet up and ride the carousel! Funds go to our school!

Come ride the DSF Carousel at Central Park tomorrow, on August 29th, during Farmers Market to support Korematsu PTO!

Davis Schools Foundation proudly offers the Flying Carousel of the Delta Breeze as a FREE fundraising tool for local school groups.
