If you are planning on traveling in the next few days remember that most of the state is in some form of weather watch/warning. From high winds and flooding in the valleys to blizzard warnings in the mountains.

Please be diligent on keeping up with current road and weather conditions and plan travel accordingly.

As December rolls on and people have had their trees up for weeks, it is easy to forget to water them. Remember a dry Christmas tree burns faster than newspaper. Keep your tree well watered this holiday season.

This video from the Consumer Product Safety Commission shows just how flammable a dry tree is.

Santa is a go this evening in South Davis, depending on how much it’s raining it may be slightly modified with Santa not on the antique engine. Hope to see you out there!

Weekend driver training with C-shift. Helping with training new drivers is a great way for every member of the crew to work on skills and keep them fresh. This particular drill requires the driver to workout pump calculations of multiple lines in real time, all while maintaining the proper pressure in each line as more and more lines are being put in service.

NOTICE: The Davis Fire Department is conducting some live Multi-Casualty Drills (MCI) at Fire Station 33 on December 4th and 7th. They have already completed one drill on December 3rd.

The drill simulates a vehicle accident involving injury to several patients. All Davis Fire personnel on duty are participating including AMR ambulances, supervisors and Yolo County EMS. The drill occurs on three separate shift days to cover the three different shift schedules so that all personnel complete the training. Radio channels will be utilized by dispatch, the incident commander and emergency responders to help simulate live radio use. These radio broadcasts are sometimes picked up by the public, so please be aware that THIS IS A DRILL ONLY.
