This week, our crews had the opportunity to train with Premier Health CareFlight.

Crews reviewed safe landing zone operations, got a closer look at CareFlight’s new helicopters and onboard equipment, and discussed emergency procedures involving an aircraft incident or crash.

Thank you to the Premier Health CareFlight crews for taking the time to train with our members and provide a valuable hands-on learning experience.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call.

We will never forget the 343 FDNY firefighters, along with the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and civilians whose lives were taken that day.

Yesterday, Butler Township Fire crews responded to a vehicle accident at the Englewood Dam after a vehicle drove off the side of the dam.

The passenger sustained injuries and was treated on scene before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Thank you to Vandalia Fire Department for their assistance on scene.

This afternoon, Butler Township Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on I-75S exit to Benchwood Road.

Engine 88 arrived to find the vehicle well involved in fire and quickly brought the incident under control, preventing the fire from spreading and helping minimize disruptions to traffic.

We’d like to thank our mutual aid partners and law enforcement for their assistance with traffic control and scene safety.

If you encounter emergency vehicles on the highway, remember to slow down and move over whenever possible. Your attention behind the wheel helps keep first responders and the public safe.
