There's a 500 year old tree at De Leon Springs. Guess its name.

Old Methuselah has been standing on this property since before Florida was Florida. It's one of the oldest trees along our hiking trail system, and most visitors walk right past it without knowing what they're looking at. Join one of our guided hiking tours to see it up close and hear the story behind it.

Most people come to De Leon Springs for pancakes. A few come for the fishing.

The spring run and Lake Woodruff hold bass, bream, and catfish, and October mornings bring cooler water and a little less foot traffic along the bank. Bring your own rod, grab a Florida fishing license ahead of time, and see what's biting.

It's almost Tuesday, which means it's Senior Tuesday at the Old Sugar Mill.

Guests 60 and up get a discount on breakfast and lunch, cooked right at the table the old-fashioned way. It's a good excuse to get out of the house and make a morning of it.

Come see us tomorrow, dine-in only.

Cooler mornings, quieter water, the kind of stillness that only shows up this time of year. Bring the family for a River Cruise & Pancake Package this season, an easy morning on the springs followed by a table full of pancakes everyone makes their own way.

Florida doesn't really do fall. It does this instead.

The water stays 72 degrees no matter what the calendar says. The light gets a little softer in the afternoons. The crowds thin out just enough. October at De Leon Springs is the quiet season, and it might be the best one.

Paddling out as the light turns gold, watching the spring go still around you, that's the kind of fall moment that sticks.

If a De Leon Springs kayak trip or river cruise is the memory you keep coming back to, show us on video, not just a photo, for a chance to win a 2-night return stay and a $150 gas card.

This is what slowing down looks like in October.

Cooler mornings, quieter trails, a spring that never changes temperature no matter the season. October at De Leon Springs feels like the whole property finally exhales.

Long before it was the Old Sugar Mill Pancake House, this building was part of an actual working sugar mill on the property. The griddles built into your table today sit inside a structure with roots stretching back to the 1800s. You're not just having breakfast, you're sitting inside Florida history.

Swipe through for a look at how it's changed.
