What a wonderful piece by travel journalist Jacqui Agate in The Sunday Times!! Jacqui spent two nights (one a bit chilly) in one of our camping covered wagons! She took in all we offer here at the Ingalls Homestead, toured with the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society, and visited many points of interest around De Smet. Following the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Highway, she then headed to Walnut Grove, Spring Valley, and Pepin! A true Laura-inspired road trip!! 💛💛

A new Netflix adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s pioneer tales inspired a journey through South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin

Cindy Wilson, author of The Beautiful Snow & We Suffered Much, and one of our very good 'Laura' friends, will be signing books in our air-conditioned Visitors Center & Gift Shop mid-afternoon. Sounds like a great place to be today! If you stop by for a visit today and need to beat the heat 🫠, feel free to ask for a popsicle in the Flindts Garage. 😎
