🚨PRAIRIE COUNTY AGRICULTURAL BURNING ADVISORY 🚨
The Prairie County Judge and Prairie County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) have issued an Emergency Proclamation strongly urging the cessation of all agricultural burning in Prairie County due to current dry conditions and the increased risk of fire.
🔥 Residents, landowners, farmers, and agricultural producers are strongly encouraged to:
• Cease agricultural burning until conditions improve and the risk of uncontrolled fire has been reduced.
• Avoid burning crop residue, fields, brush, grass, hay, leaves, agricultural debris, and similar materials.
• Exercise extreme caution with any activity capable of producing an open flame or sparks.
• Immediately report any uncontrolled or unattended fire.
• Follow instructions from local fire departments, Emergency Management officials, and other appropriate authorities.
The proclamation will remain in effect until conditions improve and the County determines that agricultural burning may safely resume, or until it is otherwise rescinded.
Please help us protect our residents, homes, farms, property, and emergency responders.
