DERIDDER -- "Merry & Bright" takes place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 in Downtown DeRidder.

Downtown merchants will be open for shopping. There will also be train rides, a drone show, a huge Santa bounce house, visits with Santa, a special DeRidder Farmers Market, caricature artists, face painting, and more.

This night will also mark the lighting of the annual DeRidder Christmas Light Show, which will run through Jan. 1.

Saturday, Nov. 28 is "Small Business Saturday," so get out and support the downtown merchants during this special event!

"Merry & Bright" is organized by the City of DeRidder and DeRidder Main Street. The drone show is made possible by generous sponsors.

For more information, contact the DeRidder Main Street Office at 337-463-8148.

**This is not a vendor event. Only permitted DeRidder Farmers Market vendors will be set up under the market pavilion on North Washington Street.

Despite much lighter winds across the area today, a very dry airmass coupled with our ongoing severe drought conditions will continue to make for fire weather concerns. Unfortunately, these conditions will remain in place throughout the entire upcoming week.
