There’s a lot happening in a little game of subtraction. 😊
Our third graders are building fluency with subtraction facts, practicing quick recall, and strengthening the skills they’ll use as math grows more complex. And when practice feels like a game, there’s a little more excitement to keep going, try again, and celebrate when it clicks.
A little “Bingo!” can mean a lot. 💙💛

It was our pleasure to welcome some very special members of our Decatur community to STM. We’re teaching our students to be intentional about noticing the people around them, take the time to say thank you, and serve others. Sometimes that looks like writing cards and sharing breakfast, and sometimes, it looks like a little volleyball game. 🏐😊We’re so grateful for our City of Decatur First Responders and for the opportunity to simply spend some time saying thank you. 🙏

The Rock ‘N Run hype is REAL! 🤘🐯 Our kickoff featured a parade of student athletes, a little Stripes-inspired motivation, and an epic 8th Grade vs. Staff volleyball battle. 🏐 (Who do YOU think claimed the bragging rights?! 😉)

Rock ‘N Run is three weeks of health, wellness, and fitness education, all while bringing our STM community together to support our students and the experiences that make their school years special.

The thoughtful answers from STM’s Fr. Bruce, a former Evolutionary Biologist, to their questions were illuminating. Here are a few:
❓Where is heaven?
❓If God made everything, who made God?
❓Why did God create infinite galaxies?
❓Why are polar bears white?
❓What does an evolutionary biologist do?

Before our Tiny Tigers are ready to join the rest of the school for Mass, we give them time to learn, wonder, and feel at home in this sacred part of our Catholic faith. ❤️

From learning when to stand, sit, and kneel, to discovering the parts of mass and practicing how we participate, our teachers and their special 7th grade friends gently guide them through each moment.

Soon, our Pre-K and Kindergarten students will be joining “the big kids” in the church. And we can’t wait.💙💛
