In honor of Earth Day, DeKalb County’s Department of Planning and Sustainability, Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs, and Youth Services have come together to host their first virtual BioBlitz. This live event will be held today April 22nd from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., on zoom.  https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/88137010296  

The zoom webinar will be live starting at 12:45 for a Q&A session. Through this event we hope to promote the use of the environment as an integrated context for learning, and foster curiosity and exploration of the natural world.

The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners approved ReLeaf DeKalb, a tree-planting program that partners with Trees Atlanta. DeKalb homeowners will have an inexpensive option to add shade and beauty to their front yard this fall and winter. Ponce de Leon Building will be restricted to the general public, our staff are working remotely and county services will still be available.
