At the heart of public service is people.

Happy Father's Day!
Today, we recognize and celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures who make a lasting impact through their love, guidance, and dedication.
Whether at home, in the workplace, or throughout our community, fathers play an important role in shaping future generations and providing support, encouragement, and strength.

On June 19, we commemorate Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth serves as a reminder of the enduring pursuit of freedom, justice, equality, and opportunity for all.
The DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office, led by SG Donna Coleman-Stribling, joins communities across the nation in recognizing the significance of this day and reflecting on the importance of fairness, dignity, and equal justice under the law.

πCongratulations π to the 4th CBCT Compassion Class and especially our own Ann Gordon, Trial Line Assistant in the Special Victims Unit of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office.
Over the course of nine weeks, participants explored skills that promote compassion, self-awareness, and thoughtful engagement with others. These lessons are especially impactful in public service, where empathy, understanding, and effective communication help us better serve victims, witnesses, defendants, and our community.
We're proud of Ann's commitment to personal and professional growth and appreciate her knowledge and perspective she brings back to our office.
Congratulations Ann!

Improving the Subpoena Process Through Technology
Our team presented Wednesday at the Dekalb County Chiefs' Association meeting discussing how the ProsecutorByKarpel (PbK) system is helping streamline subpoena management and improve coordination throughout the criminal justice process.
Chief Assistant Solicitor-General Tamara Ross, Departmental IT Supervisor Brandon McMurray, and Assistant Chief Investigator Barry Hunter shared how we're using PbK's subpoena capabilities to enhance efficiency.
As the first prosecutor's office in Georgia to implement PbK, the DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office continues working to improve communication with law enforcement and public safety partners.
