1910 picture shows Swisher Lumber located at 901 E. Grand. Started back when it was still called Herkimer St., they provided all your lumber and roofing needs. In 1926, they had an order for 8 portable cottages to be sent to Russia! In 1931 they suffered a huge fire, shown here in the H&R pictures from 3/8/31. The fire lasted three hours with a fire captain hurt and over $25,000 in damage.
