🍂 Fall Has Arrived in Downtown Decatur! 🍁

Have you noticed the beautiful fall decorations throughout Downtown Decatur? The Village is embracing the season with straw bales, corn stalks, pumpkins, gourds, and gorgeous assorted mums to bring a little extra autumn charm to our downtown district!

A big thank-you to White Wagon Farms for the straw bales, corn stalks, pumpkins, and gourds, and to Paulette's Potting Shed Greenhouse for the beautiful assortment of mums!

These seasonal decorations were purchased by the Village of Decatur Downtown Development Authority (DDA) as part of our ongoing efforts to beautify the district, enhance our small-town charm, and create a welcoming atmosphere for residents, visitors, and local businesses.

We love seeing Downtown Decatur dressed up for the season! Be sure to take a stroll through downtown, support our local businesses, and enjoy all the fall colors. Thank you for helping make our community a wonderful place to live, work, and visit! 🧡

🎉 Manis & Mochas Celebrates Grand Opening in Decatur ☕

The Village of Decatur was excited to welcome Manis & Mochas, the newest business in the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) District, during their grand opening celebration on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Village of Decatur staff and board members joined the Manis & Mochas team, family, friends, and community members for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating this exciting new addition to our Village. The grand opening was very well attended, with many community members coming out to show their support and welcome the business to Decatur.

Manis & Mochas represents much more than a new business opening its doors. The owners have made a significant investment of more than $1 million in our community, transforming and rehabilitating a previously blighted and vacant building into a vibrant new space. Their investment is a wonderful example of how private investment can help breathe new life into downtown properties while creating new opportunities for our community.

The Village of Decatur and the DDA are proud to welcome Manis & Mochas to the DDA District and are grateful for the owners’ commitment to investing in Decatur. We are excited to watch their business grow and become a part of our downtown community.

Please join us in giving Manis & Mochas a warm Decatur welcome and wishing Kaylee & Emerick Zelmer many years of success!
