COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION!

Yesterday, Falling Springs was closed for a few hours while crews worked to clear overgrown trees and underbrush along the roadway. We have received several complaints from people who travel this route about the vegetation growing too close to the road, creating concerns for those using it.

The City of Decatur had previously attempted to address the issue but did not have the equipment necessary to complete the job successfully. Mayor Johnson reached out to the Benton County Road Crew for assistance, and they stepped up to help!

The work required a little more effort than originally anticipated, but these crews worked hard and got the job done!

The Decatur Police Department would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to:

Mayor Johnson and the City of Decatur for helping coordinate the effort.

The City of Decatur Streets Department for the removal of the debris.

The Benton County Road Crew for answering our call for help and putting in the hard work to get this project completed.

We appreciate everyone who came together to make this happen. It was a great example of local agencies working together to address a community concern and make a difference for those who travel our roadways.

Thank you all for your hard work, teamwork, and commitment to our community!

These calendars are distributed to local residents and businesses, and we truly appreciate the willingness of our community businesses to support the officers who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our community.

If you are interested in being featured on the calendar or would like more information, please contact Jerry Wilkerson at 903-267-3620. Jerry will be in the area for the next few days and would be happy to visit with you.
