Get to Know Principal Ashley Miner

As we wrap up National Principal's Month, we want to share a fun look at one of our incredible leaders! We asked Principal Miner a few fun questions so you can get to know her even better.

Favorite "Coffee" Order: Not a coffee drinker — give me a Dr. Pepper!

First Job: Albertsons grocery bagger! She worked her way up to Assistant GM Manager by high school graduation while working through college.

Hidden Talent: She can sing, rap, and play the piano, drums, AND guitar!

Favorite School Lunch: Hamburger

Why She Loves Deerfield: "My teachers and staff are awesome. They will move mountains to help the kids we serve. THE KIDS! Deerfield has the best students hands down! I love my job! I love what I do! I love who I get to serve!"

Thank you, Principal Miner, for everything you do for our students and school family!

Get to Know Principal Courtney Rubio!

For National Principals Month, we're giving our community a fun peek into who Principal Rubio is outside of school! Here are a few fun facts about one of our favorite leaders:

☕ Favorite Coffee Order: 7 Brew Chai Latte (with pumpkin roll flavor added when it's in season!)
🍽️ First Job: Waitress at The Picnic Basket
🎬 Hidden Talent: She can recite '90s and 2000s Disney movies word-for-word!
🍕 Favorite School Lunch: Super Nachos (or classic rectangle pizza from back in school!)

Why She Loves Deerfield:
"It comes down to three things: the incredible energy of our students, a staff that works relentlessly for their success, and a Deerfield community that never hesitates to come together for our kids. Leading a building with that kind of heartbeat makes every day rewarding."

Thank you, Principal Rubio, for leading Deerfield with so much heart!

Great Things Happening, Greater Things Ahead!

We can finally share our success now that state assessment scores have officially been released! Back in September, our students and staff celebrated our hard work paying off. As a district, we have made amazing gains over the last two years – nearly doubling the number of students scoring at Levels 3 and 4 in both ELA and Math!

Growth is what it's all about. While we are so proud of this progress, we know the work is never done, and we're excited to keep building on this .

We want to take a moment to honor our students for working so hard, and our incredible teachers who pour everything they have into making sure our kids receive high-quality instruction every day.

To celebrate, students got to enjoy a well-deserved ice cream treat after our Fall Pep Assembly! 🍦🎉
