📢 Leptospirosis Alert in San Diego County!
Leptospirosis is a serious bacterial disease caused by Leptospira, commonly found in contaminated water, soil, and the urine of infected wild and domestic animals. Recently, San Diego County has seen a noticeable rise in reported cases.
Leptospirosis is zoonotic, meaning it can spread from animals to humans, making prevention especially important for both your pet’s health and your family’s safety.
Due to the increased risk, veterinarians in San Diego are now recommending the leptospirosis vaccine as a core vaccine for dogs.
🐾 If your dog frequents dog parks, beaches, hiking trails, or areas with standing water, they could be at higher risk.
