Growing a Greener Future for Our Community!

Trees are being planted throughout the Val Verde County Fairgrounds to add natural beauty and, as they mature, provide much-needed shade for the families, visitors, and participants who gather here.

Each tree is being placed with the future in mind, where the shade will offer added comfort for those participating in events and spending time at the grounds.

These trees are a long-term investment in our fairgrounds and the people who enjoy them. We look forward to watching them grow and providing a more comfortable space for our community for years to come. 💚

My father and my predecessor as Precinct 1 County Commissioner. This was in 1982 and was Martin Wardlaw Day at Laughlin Air Force Base. That day my Dad went up in a T-37 with pilot Captain Daniel Boone. The T-37 was the side by side trainer that was once used at Laughlin for pilot training. My family always teases my Dad that he looks like a cast member from Top Gun! 😂❤️
