🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week at Pearson School!

Members of the Delanco Fire Company visited Pearson School to spend some time teaching the kids about fire safety!

Students got to watch one of our firefighters put on their full turnout gear, helping them understand that underneath all that equipment and what might look like a scary mask is a friendly firefighter who’s there to help!

We also talked about smoke detectors in the house, and having a meeting place for your family in case of an emergency. The kids also had a chance to get an up-close look at our fire trucks, tools, and equipment.

Thank you to Pearson School for having us! We always enjoy the opportunity to connect with the youngest members of our community and help them learn about fire safety!

Please consider supporting Pat and Nicole as their 4 year old son Grayson battles childhood leukemia. Pat and Nicole were EMTs with our former Delanco Emergency Squad and served our town for many years and now serve with our neighboring communities.

🚒 HELP US SUPPORT ONE OF OUR OWN — 🧡

Pat and Nicole (now a paramedic) have been part of the CFD family for years, working as EMTs and dedicating their time to caring for and helping members of our community and surrounding areas.

Now, their oldest son, Grayson, is facing a leukemia diagnosis. It’s our turn to rally around them and give back to a family that has spent so much time caring for others. 🧡

Please consider purchasing Grayson Strong shirts, hats, and hoodies to show your support. Every purchase is a way to stand beside Grayson and his family during this difficult time.

Already have more shirts and hats than you know what to do with but still want to help? Please consider making a donation to their GoFundMe. Every contribution can help with medical expenses and allow Pat and Nicole to take the time they need away from work to be by their fighter’s side.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.

Last evening, members of the Delanco Fire Company, Delanco Township Police Department, our fellow first responders, local officials from Delanco Township, New Jersey, students from the Delanco Township School District, and members of our community gathered to mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

We remembered the 2,977 lives lost that day, including the 343 members of the FDNY who answered the call and never returned home. We honored the first responders who ran toward danger, the families whose lives were forever changed, and all those who have carried the weight of that day for the past quarter century.

It was especially meaningful to have students join us in remembrance. They are part of a generation born long after September 11, 2001, and their participation helps ensure that the stories, sacrifices, and lessons of that day continue to be carried forward.

For those of us in the fire service, September 11 will always hold a special meaning. Twenty-five years may have passed, but our promise remains the same:

We will never forget.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped ensure that the sacrifices of September 11, 2001 are remembered by generations to come.

🇺🇸 25 YEARS AGO TONIGHT…

Twenty-five years ago tonight, America went to bed not knowing what the morning would bring.

It was an ordinary Monday night. Families had dinner. Parents tucked their children into bed. People set their alarms for work. Firefighters, police officers, and EMS crews reported for shifts just as they had countless times before.

Flights were scheduled. Meetings were planned. Goodbyes were said without anyone knowing how much they would matter.

And when we woke up the next morning, our world changed forever.

Tomorrow marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We remember the 2,977 lives lost, including the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, the first responders who ran toward danger, and all those whose lives were forever changed by that day.

The Washington Fire Company #1 – Delanco Fire Company invites our community to join us tomorrow at 6:00 PM for our September 11th Memorial Service as we come together to remember and honor them.

Tonight, remember the world we went to sleep in.

Tomorrow, remember those who never came home.

🇺🇸 We will never forget.

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is expected to impact Delanco and much of New Jersey today and over the coming days. You may notice hazy skies 🌫️ and the smell of smoke 👃 even when there is no fire in the area.

⚠️ Don't ignore the signs of a real emergency. If you see heavy smoke 💨 coming from a building 🏠, vehicle 🚗, wooded area 🌳, or anywhere that appears unusual or localized, or you see flames 🔥, call 9-1-1 ☎️ immediately.

💯 We'd much rather respond and find nothing than have an actual fire go unreported.

🇺🇸🎆 Happy Independence Day from the Delanco Fire Company! 🎆🇺🇸

Today, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who fought to secure the freedoms we enjoy every day. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

From all of us at Delanco Fire Company, we wish you and your family a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July!

As you celebrate, please keep safety in mind:
🎇 In New Jersey, only handheld sparklers, ground-based sparklers, and certain novelty items are legal for consumer use.
🚫 Leave the aerial fireworks to the professionals.
🔥 Never leave children unattended with sparklers.
🚒 If an emergency happens, don’t hesitate to call 9-1-1.

Whether you’ve spent the day with family, enjoying a barbecue, or watching a fireworks display, we hope you have a wonderful Independence Day.

Happy 4th of July, Delanco! 🇺🇸🎆
