Volusia County Schools is actively working with Volusia County Emergency Management to monitor the Tropical Storm Watch in effect today for parts of Volusia County in response to Tropical Depression 9.
While the storm is expected to bring rain and wind to the area, the cyclone is forecasted to remain about 100 miles offshore before moving further east away from the coast. It is not forecasted to make landfall in Florida.
All school operations, including buses and afterschool activities, will continue as usual this week. The sustained wind speeds are not forecasted to impact the operation of buses. Again, classes will take place tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 29, as normal.
