We’re making out pretty good so far. No storm damage, no power outages and no flooding. The sluice gate DelDOT installed at Dragon Run is doing great and no flooding on Cox Neck.

🚔 Public Safety Announcement / Phone Scam 🚔

It has been brought to the attention of DCPD that scam callers are making contact and claiming that they are U.S. Marshals investigating fraudulent activity on the call taker’s behalf.

These calls appear as though they are originating from our DCPD office number…302-836-6344. Obviously, they are not.

**DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THESE CALLERS OR ANY OTHER INCOMING CALLS**

West Nile virus is active in our area. Protect yourself and your family by preventing mosquito bites. Use EPA-registered insect repellent, wear long, loose-fitting shirts and pants when you can, avoid outdoor activities from dawn and dusk, use screens on windows and doors or air conditioning, and dump standing water around your home. These small steps help lower the chance of mosquito‑borne illness.

West Nile Virus (WNV) has been detected in Delaware for the first time in 2026 in the sentinel chickens that help DNREC monitor the state for mosquito-borne illnesses.
