🏇 The Little Brown Jug — a Delaware County tradition!

There’s something special about Little Brown Jug week in Delaware County, Ohio. For generations, this event has brought together our community, racing fans, and some of the best horses and drivers in harness racing.

Delaware County EMS is proud to be part of this incredible tradition every year. We’re honored to provide medical coverage and, just as importantly, to have a front-row seat to the action.

Our crews take great pride in being right there in the paddock, watching the winners go on and off the track, while standing ready to serve the drivers, teams, and spectators who make this event so special.

It’s more than just a race. It’s a Delaware County tradition—and we’re proud to play a small part in keeping our community safe while this tradition continues.
Good luck to all the drivers, teams, and horses! We’ll see you in the paddock and around the track!

DELAWARE COUNTY EMS CITIZENS ACADEMY REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Delaware County EMS believes that being prepared for an emergency starts with an educated community.

The Delaware County EMS Citizens Academy gives community members the opportunity to learn valuable lifesaving skills and then take those skills back into the community by teaching others.

Participants in the program will be trained by Delaware County EMS and will learn how to teach Hands-Only CPR and the Stop the Bleed campaign to members of the public. The goal is to create a network of community members who are confident not only in their own ability to respond during an emergency, but also in their ability to educate others.

From schools and community organizations to civic groups, businesses, and neighborhood events, Citizens Academy participants can help Delaware County become a more prepared and resilient community.

Tentative Start Date:
October 20, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM (1800)

Interested in becoming part of the Citizens Academy?

Complete the registration form today!

We need a minimum of 5 students registered by October 13, 2026 in order to move forward with the program.

At Delaware County EMS, our commitment to the community goes far beyond responding to 911 calls. We believe some of the most important moments happen when we have the opportunity to simply spend time with the people we serve.
This morning, our team joined the youth of Delaware County and our partners from Delaware City Police for Fish with a First Responder. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans, and the event was cut short by the weather.
Even with the shortened morning, we’re grateful for the opportunity to laugh, talk, build relationships, and spend time with the young people in our community.
We’re proud to serve Delaware County, and we’re even prouder to be part of the community—not just responding to it.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this morning possible. We look forward to the next opportunity to get together!

We are proud of Kyle Goodknight and Rob Glaze for their work at the Fastcan conference.

The conference asked them to present on Pediatric CPAP, and they did so to an international crowd.

September 11, 2001.

We remember.

Twenty-five years later, the images may have faded for some, but for those of us who serve in public safety, the meaning of that day never will.
On September 11, 2001, thousands of lives were lost, including 343 firefighters/medics and 23 law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to help others.
They were mothers and fathers. Husbands and wives. Sons and daughters. Brothers and sisters. Friends and coworkers.

They were first responders who answered the call, just as they had countless times before.
They did not know that call would be their last.
Today, Delaware County EMS remembers those who never came home. We honor their courage, their sacrifice, and the families who have carried their loss for 25 years.
We also remember the countless first responders who spent the years that followed dealing with the physical and emotional consequences of that day.
As EMS professionals, we understand that our uniform carries a responsibility far greater than ourselves.

We stand ready to help people on their worst days, knowing that someday we may be asked to make the same difficult choice those heroes made on September 11.

We remember their names.

We remember their sacrifice.

We remember why we serve.

May we never forget.

September 11, 2001.

Never Forget.
