We have received word tonight that a phone call soliciting donations for a Firefirghters' group was received by a Delaware County resident.

*** The Delaware County Firefighters' Assn DOES NOT solicit via phone. Our annual fund drive letter was mailed in November. This is the only solicitation we make each year to support the ongoing training and recruitment here in Delaware County. ***

Please be cautious when answering these phone calls.

Starting today Delaware County residents will find our yearly fund drive letter in their mailboxes. The Delaware County Firefighters' Association is funded only by the support of our community. This funding is used to support and train our volunteer first responders from their initial basic fire classes and continuing with more advanced trainings education opportunities. The DCFA maintains one of the best training facilities in the area through these donations.

Please be advised that due to lack of reservations we have had to cancel the Past Presidents Dinner on October 18th.

If anyone has suggestions for the future of the dinner please let me know.

We are getting really close to the 2025 Delaware County Fair-Walton,NY ! Departments from around the county will be manning our fire prevention tent all week. Come find us and chat with our volunteers and find out how you can help us out!

On Tuesday night August 12th at 7pm our parade will proceed down the track past the grandstands.

***ENTRY TO THE GRANDSTAND IS FREE! ***

Come cheer on the departments. You will get to enjoy seeing our members along with new and antique apparatus on display! If your department or group would like to join in the parade please reach out. The contact info is in the picture with this post.

Our thoughts are with Idaho today and the firefighters who have lost their lives due to a spineless evil person who set a fire and ambushed the firefighters who responded to help.

Their families, their department, their town, their state changed forever.

And for what reason??? Absolutely none!!

The DCFA is compiling a list of Delaware County department members who have passed away over the past year so they can be honored in our upcoming ceremony at the Delaware County Fair as well as at ceremonies by the Central NY FF Assn and FASNY. If your department has lost a member in the past year please send us a message and a link to the form will be provided.

Happy Mother’s Day from the members of the Delaware County FF Association!

The next meeting of the DCFA is tonight, Monday, April 28th at the Bovina fire station. Dinner is at 7pm with the meeting to follow at 7:30. All members and any emergency services members from Dealware County interested in joining the DCFA are encouraged to attend.

The pork butts are smoking! Pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw tonight!
