Do you know who is on his way? Old man winter!!!!!!😱🥶❄️☃️
We will soon be moving Sully and all of the other educational turtles inside for the season. We need fresh new bedding to set up all of their inside housing.
We also need a few clear reinforced tarps because they hold up so much better than a regular tarp and they let the sunshine through in the winter!
There will be a couple of other things that we will post in the coming days that will be winter needs for the animals.
Our staple supplies are also getting low. Things like trash bags (42 gallon and larger), bleach, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, dawn dish liquid.
We truly appreciate all of your help for the animals! Remember if you’re not able to donate or help with our essentials, it is free to share our post!!

Skippy Chunk!!! Our newest educational ambassador. Being on 3 legs does not stop him from enjoying watermelon in this heat. Or anytime for that matter. He just enjoys life!!!

Lots of storm damage to the Center today! This is what Ogie‘s enclosure looks like! Ogi, our non-releasable educational ambassador Bobcat, was terrified, but somehow the enclosure was not breached. She was not harmed nor inadvertently released, thank goodness! Many more trees and enclosures were damaged today, but not one animal or human was injured.

And it doesn’t sound like it’s going to get any better this week, weather wise. We are without power since the lines are down in the field, but we will open again for anticipated (texted and scheduled) dropoffs tomorrow (Weds) between 10-5, power or not. Many birds, baby cottontails and squirrels will be kept for safekeeping overnight at individual homes and brought to the center tomorrow. Do not feed these animals. Keep them dark, quiet and warm.

Our tree man, Chad, will come as soon as he can, but if you were not damaged today and have an extra dollar or two you can spare to help with what’s going to be an expensive and time-consuming cleanup, we would sure appreciate your donation. Our PayPal button is on our website at www.wildcatwildlifecenter.org. Checks and gift cards are always welcome. Mail to WCWC,, 4709 N. 400 W., Delphi, IN 46923. As always we appreciate you all! If you can’t donate at this time, we understand and know that you are thinking of us and the injured and orphaned animals that need us! Thank you all.

Seattle, you’ve got nothing over us! Did you know that we have our very own “Jimothy” at the center named “Keller”?! This is a video of our 12 year old Keller when he was a baby in 2014. He was scooped up out of the road where he was just sitting and waiting for his momma or for a kind raccoon rescurer. He obviously was being well taken care of in his den but when it was time to leave and forage with his family he just couldn’t find his way, sat down and waited.

Our beloved Keller boy has the “short spine syndrome”, but that’s not all. His tail is short and crooked to the left side not even covering his bottom. He was born with short legs and extra toes and on top of that he was born anophthalmic (no eyes)! He has the sweetest temperment and has been an inspiring addition to our educational programming for the last 12 years. We have been able to discuss environmental issues and genetic quirks in the wild while showing how Keller has adapted. Of course he’s spoiled and well taken care of and we know most quirky wild animals don’t survive, but it looks like Jimothy and Keller are the lucky ones.

My goodness we love Keller soooo much. At 12 he’s still going strong! He’s as adorable now as when he was a baby!

Your support dollars help our licensed nonreleasable educational animals every day. PayPal button is on our website at

Checks to 4709 N 400 W

And check out our wish list pinned to the top of our page. Keller loves toys that make noise, big stuffed animals, and grapes donated by Target. He feels for them in his water pan every day! A new water pan is on our wish list!

This is what you all have funded this summer with your donations for “Tiny Fawn” as well as our monthly recurring donors on PayPal!! You did this! Bought another bottle rack and paid for 14- 20lb buckets of fawn formula. So that we can do a dozen white tail deer fawns. From deceased moms or found floating in creeks and rivers during storms, caught in fences trying to keep up with mom, and farm implement accidents. All needing a human hand. Yes, our interns and regular volunteers are raising them for release. Preparing a ton of bottles three times a day. No unnecessary handling, no talking, no petting. Just feeding, cleaning and observation behind masks and camoflauge. They are wild and will remain so under our care.
But you, our devoted supporters, have supplied the funding to be able to do this work every day, every year. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 💕
