Delta Police Department Responds to Reported Threat at Delta High School
The Delta Police Department responded this afternoon to Delta High School after school officials reported the discovery of a written threat inside the building.
Officers immediately responded to the school and worked closely with school administrators to assess the situation and implement established safety protocols. As a precautionary measure, the high school was placed on lockdown while law enforcement and school officials evaluated the threat and ensured the safety of students and staff.
The Delta Police Department is pleased to report that all safety procedures functioned as intended and that students and staff remained safe throughout the incident. Additional officers were present during student dismissal, and an increased law enforcement presence will be maintained at the high school tomorrow morning as an added precaution.
Although no immediate threat to students or staff was identified, the Delta Police Department takes all threats involving our schools seriously. This incident remains under investigation, and officers are actively working to identify the individual responsible.
The Delta Police Department appreciates the cooperation of Pike-Delta-York Local Schools, students, staff, parents, and the community. The safety and security of our schools and community remain our highest priority
