UPDATE 9:35am: The road is clear, and we are back open! Thank you, TREC, for the fast response! Guests can now enter and exit the Park, but please drive carefully, as crews are still working hard throughout the state.

Cheaha is temporarily closed because a large tree is across live power lines, blocking entry to the Park. We are working with authorities to get it cleared safely. We will post as soon as the path is clear.

The story continues! A new generation of explorers recently visited the William Bartram in Alabama Traveling Exhibit to learn about his travels and the discoveries he made along the way.

There’s still time to make a discovery of your own. Visit the exhibit at the Lake Cheaha Interpretive Center Thursday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, until Sunday, September 20, when the exhibit moves to Lakepoint State Park in Eufaula.

Cheaha State Park would like to extend a huge thank you to the Shinbone Valley Fire Department for a wonderful day of fun and learning! Over one hundred children learned about the importance of outdoor and hiking safety with the Junior Park Ranger Hug a Tree and Stay Safe program. We love helping our guests to feel inspired and confident in the outdoors!

Bald Rock Lodge at Cheaha State Park features a historic timber-framed banquet hall with stone walls, a gas fireplace, and seating for up to 100. The lodge includes 12 rooms for 32 guests, a full kitchen, a lounge, a stone patio, and a small conference room, making it a great setting for group events.
