β€οΈπŸ–€ Celebrating Coast Salish Day & 50 Years of Stillaguamish Tribe Recognition! πŸ–€β€οΈ On this Coast Salish Day, the Nooksack Tribe proudly celebrates the strength, resilience, sovereignty, and enduring cultural traditions of Coast Salish peoples.

Today, we also extend our heartfelt congratulations to our relatives of the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians as they commemorate 50 years of federal recognition!

We honor the generations of leaders, ancestors, and community members who fought to protect their people, lands, and sovereignty, including Chief Esther R. Ross, whose determination and leadership helped secure federal recognition for the Stillaguamish Tribe.

As Coast Salish peoples, we share deep connections through our histories, cultures, ancestral homelands, and commitment to future generations. Our sovereignty and identities existed long before federal recognition, and our strength continues through the generations.

We encourage our Nooksack community to join our Stillaguamish relatives for two special celebrations this weekend!

πŸŽ‰ 50 Years of Federal Recognition Celebration
πŸ“… Sunday, October 18 | 11 AM–3 PM

On Coast Salish Day, we celebrate our shared heritage, honor those who came before us, and recognize the responsibility we carry to protect our cultures, traditions, and sovereignty for generations to come.

Congratulations to the Stillaguamish Tribe on this historic milestone! We are proud to stand alongside our Coast Salish relatives in celebration.
