Ever wondered what happens at City Council meetings?

We encourage our community to come out and attend a City Council meeting sometime! You don’t have to be involved in politics or have an issue to speak about to attend. Sometimes, simply sitting in and seeing how our city operates can be a great learning experience.

City Council meetings are a chance to hear about what’s happening in our community, learn about upcoming projects and decisions, and better understand how our city government works.

You might be surprised by how much you learn!

Your community is your home, and staying informed is one of the best ways to be involved. Even if you just attend once, come check it out and see what goes on behind the scenes.

Get involved. Stay informed. Be part of your community.

🎉 WHAT A GREAT TURNOUT! 🎉

Our rescheduled National Night Out was finally able to happen, and what a night it was! We had to move the event to the YMCA, and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout. 🙌

A HUGE thank you to Trevor and the YMCA for helping make it happen and giving us a great place to host the event!

We also want to thank all of the amazing organizations and businesses who came out and had booths:

🚓 Crawford County Sheriff’s Office
🚨 Crawford County EMA

🛠️ Waderich’s Towing
🎨 Ana Campos Face Painting
👷 Job Corps
And can’t forget the awesome bouncy houses from El Ausente !!!!

And, of course, THANK YOU to everyone who came out, visited the booths, enjoyed the activities, and helped make National Night Out such a success! ❤️

We appreciate our community and all the people who help make it such a great place to live!

🇺🇸 WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸

Today, we remember September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation.

We remember the lives that were lost, the families who received the hardest phone calls, and the many people who carried unimaginable pain in the days, months, and years that followed.

We especially remember the brave first responders who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape it. Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and countless others showed extraordinary courage and selflessness as they worked to save lives. Many never made it home.

As members of law enforcement, we carry a deep respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. Their courage reminds us of the responsibility we have each day to protect our communities, stand beside those who need us, and never forget the meaning of service.

Twenty-five years later, their stories still matter. Their sacrifice still matters. Their families still matter.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the countless lives forever changed.

May we never forget the people, the bravery, and the sacrifice of September 11, 2001.

🇺🇸 Never Forget. 🇺🇸

The Denison Police Department sends our sincere sympathies to the family and loved ones of a respected member of the Denison community.

Throughout his years serving Denison schools, he had a positive influence on many young people through his work as an educator, coach, and athletic director. The lessons he taught and the relationships he built will continue to be remembered by the many students, athletes, coworkers, and community members whose lives he touched.

We are grateful for the time, dedication, and commitment he gave to our community and for the lasting difference he made in the lives of others.

Our thoughts are with his family and all those grieving this loss. May his memory and the impact he made continue to live on throughout our community. 💙
