πŸš’ Training Together. Responding Together.

Denison Fire Rescue is proud to recognize Fire Marshal Owens for participating in NIMS 300 & 400 training alongside our regional public safety partners.

Training like this strengthens communication, coordination, and teamwork across agencies, helping ensure we’re prepared to work together when our communities need us most.

Thank you, Fire Marshal Owens, for your continued commitment to training, collaboration, and keeping our community safe!

Preparing together helps us respond together.

This week, Sergeant Amanda Owens, Corporal Eric LaSarge, and Deputy Kayla Weil attended NIMS 300 & 400 training alongside fire, EMS, 911 communications personnel, and other first responders from surrounding jurisdictions.

The training focused on coordinating personnel, resources, and communications during complex emergency incidents. Working through these challenges together builds relationships and strengthens the teamwork our communities depend on when emergencies happen.

We appreciate their commitment to preparing for those moments and the public safety partners who train alongside us. A coordinated response begins long before the first call for help.

On the evening of October 10th, 2026, Denison Police and Denison Fire Rescue responded to a missing juvenile call at Texoma Health Foundation (THF) Park.

Both agencies deployed drones to assist with the search. With the aid of thermal detection technology, they were able to locate the juvenile in the southeast area of the park near a creek. The juvenile was located without any major injuries.

This is just one example of how the use of drones helps first responders on a day-to-day basis.

It is also a good reminder, if you see something ... say something!

Thank you to all who came together to quickly and safely locate the missing juvenile.

FIRE SAFETY WEEK DAY 6:

βœˆοΈπŸ”‹ Taking your devices with you when you fly? Don't forget about battery safety!

When charging a portable device on a plane, keep it on the tray table where you and the flight crew can see it.

❌ Don't charge devices in an overhead compartment.
❌ Never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane.

If a battery overheats or fails, it’s important for the flight crew to be able to respond quickly.

And just like that, we've reached the end of Fire Prevention Week! β€οΈπŸš’ We hope these reminders help you and your family make safer choices every time you plug in.

Keep using your charging superpower long after Fire Prevention Week is over!

FIRE SAFETY WEEK DAY 5:

πŸš²πŸ›΄πŸ”‹ Bigger batteries = bigger safety considerations.

E-bikes, scooters, power tools, and other devices with larger lithium-ion batteries store more energyβ€”and if a battery fails, a fire can grow quickly.

When possible, charge these devices outside and always make sure charging equipment isn't blocking an exit.

Your charging location matters. Keep exits clear and give those larger batteries the space they need.

Let's Charge into Fire Safetyβ„’ together! βš‘πŸš’
