What a great night across Denton County! Our deputies had a blast visiting different National Night Out events throughout the county, meeting neighbors, sharing some laughs, and spending time with the communities we’re proud to serve.

Thank you to everyone who came out, welcomed us, and made the night so much fun! We’re already looking forward to next year!

Another fantastic Retiree Qualification & Luncheon is in the books!

It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces and catching up with our DCSO retirees. We’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the friendships, memories, and service that continue long after retirement.

A special thank you to Ben Schoenthal for grilling up another batch of delicious burgers.

Until next time, retirees!

Important Notice: SCAM ALERT

We are warning residents about scammers posing as law enforcement officers and threatening arrest for missed jury duty or outstanding warrants.

In a recent case, a resident was contacted by someone falsely claiming to be a DCSO sergeant. The scammer demanded thousands of dollars in Bitcoin payments to resolve fictitious warrants, resulting in a significant financial loss.

Please remember:

• Law enforcement will never ask for payment to clear a warrant or avoid arrest.

• Never send money through Bitcoin ATMs, gift cards, or cryptocurrency to resolve alleged legal matters.

• Be cautious of callers who threaten arrest or tell you NOT to speak with anyone.

If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact the Sheriff’s Office using an official phone number (940-349-1600) to verify the information. Do not use a number provided by the caller.

If you believe you have been targeted by a scam, report it to local law enforcement. Please share this alert to help protect others in our community.
