Thank you to our Denton ISD Ambassadors for joining us for our October Ambassador Program meeting at LaGrone Academy!
The morning started with breakfast prepared by the talented students in LaGrone Academy's culinary program, a delicious example of what our students can do when classroom learning meets real-world experience.
Today's topic was Teaching, Learning & Accountability. Ambassadors heard from Superintendent Dr. Susannah O'Bara, Chief Academic Officer Luci Schulz and Assistant Superintendent of School Leadership & Academic Programs Dr. Lacey Rainey. Topics included:
🧮 How skills build from grade to grade, starting with a hands-on math challenge
📝 How teacher teams plan with the end in mind
✅ How we check for learning all year long, not just at test time
📈 How the state's A–F accountability ratings are built
🏆 Highlights from Athletics, Fine Arts, and Career & Technology Education
🏗️ A first look at the Jim Alexander Career Experience Center, opening Fall 2028
Ambassadors then toured LaGrone Academy, seeing first-hand the programs and experiences that make Denton ISD unique. From the classroom to the kitchen, it all points to the same goal: Excellent Student Outcomes for every student.
Thank you for your time, your great questions, and your support of our students and schools!
