SERVICE ABOVE SELF
Today, Callie Mitchell, Laura Olmedo, Reno Saenger, Nick Thompson and the rest of The Rotary Club of Denver Northeast served a Thanksgiving Meal to the residents of Open Arms Assisted Living. This is the 4th year in a row that we have enjoyed this annual event.
I truly feel that our club President says it best in a letter to the club.....
Friends and Guests of Rotary Club of Denver Northeast,
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for the kindness, care, and generosity you shared during our Thanksgiving meal service at Open Arms assisted living community. Because of your willingness to cook, serve, visit, and clean up—often doing far more than was asked—we were able to provide a warm, joyful holiday meal for nearly 50 residents, staff and guests.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU - to Lance and Lucy Lindsay for your countless hours in cooking and organizing this amazing event! We couldn't have done it without you!
What touched me most was not just the effort, but the spirit you brought with you. Every smile, every conversation, every plate served reminded our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and remembered. You turned a simple meal into a moment of connection and comfort—something truly special during the holidays.
I am deeply proud and profoundly grateful to lead a club that lives its values with such heart. Thank you for giving your time, your energy, and your compassion so generously. You made a real difference, and I hope you feel as proud as I do of the impact we created together.
With appreciation and Rotary spirit,
Laura Olmedo
