Homecoming memories!

Last night was an AMAZING evening in so many ways!

🌟 A surprise announcement to recognize Linda (Gehr) Weber, the very first person to appear as the Cocalico eagle mascot—-in 1970! Linda (Class of 1971), her daughter Jaime (also a CSD grad), and granddaughter Abby (9th grader) all sang with the choir before the game last night. Chance was thrilled to present Linda with a certificate of appreciation, an eagle stuffed animal, and a mug with a photo of her in costume 5 decades ago 🦅

🌟 Halftime presentation of the Hoco Court and the crowning of the 2026 Homecoming Queen, Kira Lehman (escorted by Tanner Hartranft). Congrats to Kira and a big round of applause for all the remarkable young ladies and their escorts! Accolades also to Mrs. Butz, who worked tirelessly to organize every detail. 👏👑

🌟 The Eagles’ “kept-us-on-the-edge-of-our-seats” 22-21 win over Garden Spot. That was some game!!! Team, way to demonstrate grit and determination! 🏈

🌟 The marching band, cheer team, and Chance infused the stadium with exceptional energy and enthusiasm! You inspire us! 🎺🥁

🌟 You, our Cocalico community, showed your support and loyalty to our student athletes, musicians, and cheerleaders. Thank you! We appreciate you! 💙🤍💙🤍

Homecoming is TODAY @ 7 pm!!! 🏈 👑

Today, we introduce you to our last (but certainly not least) impressive young lady vying for the title of 2026 Homecoming Queen.

~~~~~~~
Meet Elise Swann!
Elise Madelyn Swann of Ephrata is the daughter of Camille and George Swann. After graduation, she is committed to play field hockey at York College, where she will major in elementary education.
Her academics this year include AP Literature and Composition and AP Statistics as well as several dual-enrollment, college-level courses. In addition, she has an internship at Conestoga Christian School.
In high school, Elise plays field hockey (she’s a three-time First Team All Star) and indoor field hockey, and she’s also on the track team. Her hobbies include ceramics, reading, writing, drawing, painting, crafting, and spending time with her family. Elise’s work experiences include employment at Burkholder’s Evergreen Farm and Fox Meadows Creamery. She also has taken on various volunteer endeavors: CityGate, Good Samaritan Services, Trunk or Treat at the school, and a 2025 mission trip to Alaska.
Elise’s favorite quote is, “He replied, ‘What is impossible for people is possible with God.’” ~ Luke 18:27. The phrase “everything happens for a reason” also resonates with her.
Her wisdom for Cocalico’s underclassmen is to make the most of their time in high school and go to games and events because the time really does go by fast.
Chase Allen Breneman of Reinholds, son of Jackie and Keith Breneman, is escorting Elise during Cocalico’s homecoming events.
Please c'mon out tonight to join the fun and embrace the excitement! Go Eagles--and best wishes to all our Homecoming Queen candidates! 💙🤍💙
Meet Emma Strunk!
Emma Nicole Strunk is the daughter of Kelly and Jeff Strunk of Reinholds. After high school, she will attend the University of Seton Hill, where she has committed to play soccer, and will study to become a physical education teacher.
In her senior year, Emma is interning with the athletic trainers and participating in service learning with physical education teacher Mr. Rohrer. Her academic endeavors include taking two college-level, dual-enrollment classes, English 101 and U.S. History 103.
Emma plays high school soccer and club soccer and was named First Team All Star in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. She has a variety of work experience, including jobs babysitting, dog sitting, and serving as a referee. Her community volunteerism spans involvement in the Cocalico Youth Soccer Club and the Leo Club; she’s helped at the Fish Fry fundraiser, Trunk or Treat, and with the placement of flags at a cemetery to honor vets on Memorial Day. In her spare time, Emma likes to go fishing, walk her dogs, and be with friends.
Her favorite quote comes from the show “Grey’s Anatomy” – “Sometimes it's good to be scared. It means you still have something to lose.” To the underclassmen of Cocalico, she has this advice: Friend groups change a lot; stick with people who make you feel happy.
Escorting Emma during homecoming activities is Aidan Joshua Sola of Adamstown, son of Stacey Smith and Josh Sola.
Several high school students from Mrs. Thomas's class are gaining valuable work experience at DenTech Industrial in Denver. Here they are assisting with a new robotic machine the company has developed.
We are immensely grateful to our business partners in the community who graciously give our students meaningful learning and career exploration opportunities! 💙🤍
