It's National Volunteer Week! To honor this, we're highlighting a volunteer with 25 years of impact!

Jane Hegstrom, a dedicated advocate with CASA of the Pikes Peak Region, is celebrating an incredible milestone: 25 years of service supporting children in need.

“I come back for the satisfaction of seeing the tangible difference you can make… I believe everyone is given a gift meant to benefit others.” Jane has truly lived that belief.

And when she saw another need, she created something powerful. In 2013, Jane founded The Hanger—a free clothing boutique and life-skills hub for teens in foster care. What started as one act of kindness has now supported over 3,000 teens, helping them build confidence, independence, and hope.

From advocacy to empowerment, Jane’s legacy continues, often found on the floor at The Hanger, sorting donations and changing lives one teen at a time.

As we close out the year, let’s show up for Colorado’s most vulnerable children.
Giving to Colorado CASA means supporting trained volunteers who advocate for safety, permanency, and well-being for kids in foster care. Your year-end donation helps change lives, one child at a time.

Every Child Deserves Time to Be a Kid 💙

“I create time for [my CASA child], full of fun and joy. We experience new things, like bowling and mini golf, and develop favorite activities like having frozen yogurt and going to the park. [She] is in a home with several small babies and toddlers, so this special time gives [her] space to be the focus and have her own experiences.” — CASA Volunteer for a 6‑year‑old girl, Denver CASA

This is the heart of CASA: giving children the chance to feel seen, valued, and free to simply be kids.
Let’s make today count. Let’s show what’s possible when a community comes together for children’s futures.

Your gift today brings more joy, stability, and hope into kids’ lives.

Your Gift Supports a Child in Need

“By being a reliable adult in [my CASA child’s] life, he receives evidence that he is worthy. I consistently provide messaging that he is smart and capable and that he deserves positive and meaningful experiences…because he is alive and a dignified being.” — CASA for a 14‑year‑old boy, CASA of the Pikes Peak Region

Last year, CASA reached more than 7,000 children statewide, including over 3,000 children in dependency and neglect cases. Help us increase that number even more, so that every kid in need of a CASA can feel capable, dignified and worthy.
