You’ve told us what you need to age well in Douglas County through surveys and Commissioner-led listening tours. As part of Older Americans Month, formally recognized by the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners at their May 26 Business Meeting, we are working to connect older adults with resources to age well and live independently.

One year ago, Douglas County launched Link On Demand in Highlands Ranch. Today, the service is highly rated (riders give it 4.9 out of 5 stars) and is having a positive economic impact.
Based on national research, communities often see $4 in economic and social return for every $1 invested in on-demand transportation.
That includes easier access to jobs, healthcare, shopping, and local businesses—plus the creation of local jobs. Those wages circulate throughout the community as employees spend money locally, support businesses, and contribute tax revenue.
With a projected $6 million investment in 2026, Link could generate an estimated $25 million in positive community impact.
