Judi's House Judi's House is a community-based nonprofit bereavement center for children and families.

Founded by former NFL quarterback Brian Griese and his wife, Dr. Brook Griese, Judi’s House is a tribute to Brian’s mother, Judi, whom he lost to breast cancer when he was 12. As Brian grew up grieving this loss, he made a commitment to use his resources to positively impact grieving children. The Grieses discovered that there were no organizations devoted to this population and dedicated themselves to offering a safe, compassionate environment where children could grieve and begin the lifelong healing process.

It’s DAF Day! 📣

Donor-advised funds can be a powerful way to support grieving families, but there are still plenty of myths about how they work.

We’re bringing back a few common DAF myths and letting Judi’s House staff set the record straight!

Have a DAF? Today is a great day to put those charitable dollars to work and help create a community where no child or family has to grieve alone.

Who you are and where you live matters when it comes to childhood bereavement.

In the U.S., children in rural counties are generally more likely to experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18 than children in other county categories, while metro communities typically have the largest number of bereaved children living within them.
In

In 31 states, children living in rural counties have a higher projected childhood bereavement rate than children in other county categories. The difference is particularly striking in Arizona, where nearly 1 in 4 children (23.5%) living in rural counties are projected to experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18, the highest projected rate among rural counties in the CBEM rural-urban reports.

The CBEM rural-urban reports offer a closer look at how childhood bereavement varies across communities, helping us better understand where children and families who are grieving live and where resources and support may be needed.
