We expand opportunities for Denver residents and visitors to experience art in public places. The order, enacted into Ordinance by Mayor Wellington E.

Denver’s Public Art Program was established in 1988 as an Executive Order under Mayor Federico Peña. Webb, directs that 1% of any capital improvement project over $1 million undertaken by the City be set aside for the inclusion of art in the design and construction of these projects. Over the past 20 years, the City has installed more than 150 works of art under this program. The artworks created

🎨 ARTIST OPPORTUNITY 🎨 Now accepting qualifications for a new project on the 5280 Trail at Acoma Street! The eventual artwork should:

🏙️ Be immersive and draw visitors from Denver Art Museum and cultural district toward the Golden Triangle neighborhood
🏙️ Draw inspiration from the surrounding area and celebrate the 5280 Trail as a vibrant public space
🏙️ Further place-making goals of the 5280 Trail, potentially incorporating interactive elements while being mindful of nearby businesses and residential areas
🏙️ Set the standard for future activations, meeting deadlines and timing installation with substantial completion of the Acoma segment

This opportunity is open to artists residing in the United States and has a budget of $110,000.

Spring has sprung, and so has our summer schedule of Denver Public Art guided tours!

This year's options will explore public art in City Park, downtown Denver & 16th Street on foot or by bike and the Denver Performing Arts Complex and Denver Theatre District including a guest appearance from Annie Geimer, Director of Special Projects and Curator for the Denver Theatre District.

Tours start May 17 and are FREE to attend, but RSVP is required.

This spring's iteration invites artists to submit proposals featuring works that reflect Colorado’s 150th Anniversary and/or the United States’ 250th Anniversary, interpreted through themes of history, landscape, innovation, community and the evolving American experience.

💃 A suspended artwork that activates the Galleria's iconic glass canopy
🎻 Welcoming and inviting, drawing patrons in and enhancing the visitor experience
🎼 Active as a sculptural work in the dalight and shifts after dark through illumination
🩰 Rooted in Denver's character and the downtown arts ecosystem

The budget for this project is $900,000 and the call is open to artists residing in the United States.
