Happy Five Dollar Friday! We have some exciting MATCHING DONATION NEWS for Orphan! 🐺❤️. PLEASE SHARE.

Our friends at The Howling Foundation have selected Orphan as their Husky of the Week and will match every dollar donated toward his care this coming week, up to $1,000. (Give them a follow if you haven’t already!)

That means every $5 donation becomes $10. Every dollar goes twice as far for Orphan’s recovery.

A few weeks ago, the then-nameless Orphan wandered into a Texas yard looking like this.

Hair loss. Inflamed skin. Grotesquely underweight. Exhausted.

Barely recognizable as a dog, let alone a husky.

We don’t know who did this to him. How long he had been fighting to survive on the streets. Or how many people saw him before someone finally stopped to help.

When Jailbreak saw him, we did what we do: step in to transform a “medical case” into a healed and thriving husky. We’ve gotten him to Colorado and moved him in with one of our medical fosters.

But his rescue is not over. It’s just beginning. He’s still waiting for his first dermatology appointment, and his vet team thinks he might need up to six months in medical foster before he is healthy enough for an adopter to take over.

Six months of healing ahead . . . But through it all, look at his eyes.

Even at his lowest, he was still looking up.

Life gave this husky every reason to give up. But he didn’t. And we’ll never give up on him either. He is finally where he belongs, surrounded by loving people committed to helping him heal.

If Jailbreak’s and our supporters will come together to donate $1,000 for Orphan’s care in the coming seven days, we’ll match his community dollar for dollar and do the same.

👀 SEARCHING FOR: Forever Family for OBSESSION 👀

Obsession is ready for adoption and we’re searching for the perfect forever family for this perfect red girl! 💞
🏆She truly is perfect - super relaxed, good with kids, has a silly side, loves going on walks, and does well on a leash. She was at the Green Mountain Beer Company event a few weeks ago and she was absolutely fantastic - greeted every person and dog with a smile and a wagging tail! She would love to be someone’s best friend, walking buddy, couch potato, brewery dog!

Some of the things we’re OBSESSED with:
🧊She has great chill vibes and is super laid back. She doesn’t need constant attention or ways to work out her energy. She’s happy finding her favorite spot on the couch and taking a nap or relaxing while her humans watch Netflix. Give her a few stuffies and toys and she’s happy as can be. Bonus points - if you work from home, she’ll be the best coworker you’ve ever had!
✅She’s house trained and can be trusted to be left home alone free roaming. Bonus points - she even knows how to use a dog door!
🐾She might be chill but she’s still down for some adventures. She loves going on long walks and does great on a leash. Bonus points - she’ll help you see where all of the bunnies are in your neighborhood!
🩶She does well with other dogs and kids (not kitty tested).
🤩Have you seen her beautiful eyes? Her heterochromia (one brown eye, one blue eye) is absolutely POPPING! Pictures really don’t do those eyes justice, so I guess you’ll just have to come meet her in person!

We would love to find a forever home for Hornet’s Nest who can continue with his weight gain plan, as he is still very underweight (he needs to gain about 20 lbs). We will send him with dog food to help supplement this weight gain. He is completely vetted, good with dogs, and a total sweetheart!

Hornets Nest (aka Teddy Slims) is the sweetest lion husky you’ve ever seen 🦁 He arrived from Texas and immediately lapped up the good life in Colorado. He’s very silly and playful, and knows how to voice his opinions (deep voice just like Teddy Swims). Be prepared to get loads of attention with him since he’s stunningly handsome.

He may be overzealous when he first meets you (working on not jumping up…) but once he spends time with you he falls deeply in love. He’ll show you affection by leaning into you while receiving rubs and gazing into your eyes. He loves walks and watermelon. He’d love to join you on daily walks around the neighborhood, and he’s a very good boy who doesn’t pull too much (other than hunting squirrels) and really just wants to sniff around and look at passersby. Oh and yes he does expect you to buy him lots of watermelon this summer 🍉 - and would probably love taste testing other seasonal fruits and veggies.

He was neglected where he first lived, but he now expects king treatment. He’ll just need to continue working on dog life skills and boundaries due to his rougher start (dumpster diving 🗑️ and counter surfing 🏄‍♂️ ). He is working on gaining weight and strength, so would appreciate someone who is happy to help keep him in tip top shape (and professional grooming for his luscious locks!)
