We went back to Wash Park to ask Coloradans about Senate Bill 135, which could raise taxes by $7,400 per taxpayer. One mother we spoke to said this bill could interfere with her ability to buy groceries for her family.

Last night the Colorado Senate Republicans celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month alongside local community leaders.

The event recognized legislators who have supported the Hispanic community. State Senator Mark Baisley and Scott Bright received recognition for bringing Día del Niño to the Colorado Senate for the first time in our state's history. State Senator Byron H. Pelton also received recognition for sponsoring the Tamale Act.

We were honored to be a part of this event hosted by The LIBRE Initiative.

With the Adams 12 school board voting to close six schools due to low enrollment, the district expects to save millions that can be redirected to core academic programs, educator compensation, and staff retention. Given those localized operational savings, the question is: why are measures like SB26-135 still needed to ask Coloradans for additional public funding?

The board approved the plan to address declining enrollment on Wednesday.

Today I was pleased to join in a legislative tour of ONEOK, a pipeline and fuel storage company based locally in Aurora that supplies jet fuel to DIA, and other energy products such as gasoline and diesel fuel to be distributed throughout Colorado. It was very clear that safety is a top priority at this company.

Thank you to all the ONEOK, Inc. employees who joined us and provided valuable information.
