🗣️One of Colorado’s leading and most influential news outlets, The Colorado Sun, published an interview with Director General Debby Huang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Denver on June 6.

✍️In the interview, Director General Huang emphasized the close and enduring partnership between Taiwan and the United States. She highlighted TECO Denver’s efforts to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with Colorado and the other five Midwestern states within its jurisdiction, fostering robust exchanges in trade, investment, culture, and education. As an example, she pointed to the recently signed Taiwan–Colorado Memorandum of Understanding, which further deepens bilateral cooperation.

Director General Huang also noted that China’s growing military activities continue to pose challenges to regional peace and stability. She explained that U.S. arms sales to Taiwan help enhance Taiwan’s self-defense capabilities and contribute to deterring escalating threats in the region.

Director General Huang reaffirmed that Taiwan and the United States are partners united by shared democratic values. She also warmly welcomed more American friends to visit Taiwan and experience firsthand its vibrant democracy, openness, and hospitality.

三十七年前，天安門廣場上的槍聲，澆熄了中國人民爭取民主自由的火苗，幾乎在同一個時代，台灣追求自由民主的力量，則在野百合學運後逐步開花結果。
​
從此，中國與台灣走向了不同的道路。
​
對我而言，六四這段歷史與真相，也是我們這一代學運參與者共同面對的時代提問。當年，在不同土地上的年輕人，都曾相信人民可以用理想、勇氣與行動改變國家。但歷史給了我們不同的答案，也讓我們更加理解民主的珍貴與脆弱。
​
多年以前，佳龍與王丹和海內外一些朋友共同發起「 #華人民主書院」，希望集結有志於在華人社群中推動民主的朋友，讓自由、民主、人權與法治的理念，能在華人世界蓬勃發展，其中也包括中國。今天，華人民主書院也再次舉辦了紀念六四的活動。

這些年來，我們親眼見證香港如何陷落，許多志同道合的朋友，或身陷囹圄，或被迫流亡海外。
​
香港的經驗提醒我們，民主自由不能只寄望於統治者的善意，更需要制度保障與人民持續守護。沒有主權作為後盾，民主自由可能在一夕之間遭到侵蝕；沒有民主作為基礎，所謂和平也可能只是威權陰影下的沈默與集體馴服。
​
三十七年後的今天，中國威權擴張的企圖卻是越來越強烈。
​
中國除了透過言論管制與維穩手段，繼續壓迫自己的人民；更以長臂管轄、跨境鎮壓與資訊操作，壓迫海外民主人士，甚至利用民主社會的開放與自由，反過來攻擊與削弱民主，擴散威權主義的敘事與價值觀。
​
這正是為什麼，我們更需要公開紀念六四。
​
我們紀念六四，不是為了延續仇恨，而是為了守護真相，為了讓下一代知道，自由從來不是理所當然。
​
台灣曾走過威權，也曾由一代又一代青年接力推開民主的大門，更理解自由的可貴。台灣有責任與所有仍在追求自由的人站在一起，成為國際民主陣營中堅定且溫暖的力量。
​
民主需要記憶，自由需要勇氣。願真相不被遺忘。願民主與自由的火苗，在記憶中延續，也在一代又一代人的守護下繼續傳承。

It was a pleasure for Director General Debby Huang to attend the annual gathering of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Denver and celebrate the strength and achievements of the Taiwanese community in Colorado.

Distinguished leaders, including Colorado Lieutenant Governor Diane Primavera, Congressman Gabe Evans’ District Director Greg Mills、State Representative Anthony Hartsook, State Representative Matt Soper, Aurora City Mayor Mike Coffman, and local officials and leaders, were also present to support Taiwanese community. Their participation highlighted the strong friendship and growing partnership between Taiwan and Colorado.
The Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Denver (TCCD) continues to play an important role in fostering business connections, cultural exchange, and community engagement, while strengthening ties between Taiwan and the local community.
We look forward to building on this momentum and creating even more opportunities for collaboration, friendship, and shared prosperity.

🇹🇼🏃‍♀️🧑🏻‍🦽‍➡️🏃🏾‍♂️‍➡️駐丹佛辦事處5月16日(星期六)首度與駐舊金山辦事處觀光組合作，邀集旅科羅拉多州台灣同鄉會及科羅拉多臺灣人緊急救助會，組成台灣隊參加丹佛市2026 年Colfax 5K馬拉松，並宣介支持我參與「世界衛生大會」(WHA)。

本次台灣隊計約40名僑胞及美國友人共襄盛舉，於馬拉松活動造勢宣傳支持我參與WHA及台灣觀光及文化。

駐丹處陳副處長淑華與駐舊處觀光組李主任思賢與台灣隊均著Team Taiwan紀念衫，並另以巧思分別加上具台灣元素裝飾，另有變裝台灣黑熊在場外加油，甚為吸睛以及台灣隊手持國旗及WHA布條，高呼「WHO Cares? Taiwan cares!」，場邊跑者及民眾熱情響應，更增添本活動歡樂氣氛。

丹佛馬拉松為慢跑界年度盛事之一，賽程為期兩日，據統計該場馬拉松跑者約28,000人，

🤝🎊On Saturday, May 16, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Denver collaborated for the first time with the Tourism Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco to organize a “Team Taiwan” delegation for the 2026 Colfax 5K Marathon in Denver. Members of the Taiwanese Association of Colorado, the Colorado Taiwanese Emergency Relief Association, and local American friends joined together to show support for Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the World Health Assembly (WHA) while also promoting Taiwanese tourism and culture. 🇹🇼🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
