We are excited to announce our school-wide annual Myrian Nowosad Give Back Project-Hunger Heroes. Our preschool learners will be taking the lead this year as our sponsors for this project in partnership with our school liaison Ms. Luz Casillas-Munoz.
Starting next week, we will have a table out front in the morning and afternoon through Friday morning and we need your help with canned food and non-perishable food donations.
For those of you who are not aware, Myrian Nowosad was our community liaison for many years before retiring. She is still a loving part of our school community. Each year we celebrate all that she taught us about caring for one another and our community through a service project for others.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we head into fall break, routines change—and sometimes so do behaviors. With more free time and time online, children may encounter social media content that encourages unsafe choices.

We have been notified of a social media trend called the “Hangman Challenge,” which reportedly encourages dangerous behavior involving restraints around the neck. This behavior can cause serious injury or death. We are sharing this concern so families can discuss the risks and help keep children safe.

During fall break, please:

Talk with your child about dangerous online challenges and peer pressure.
Monitor what your child watches, shares, and participates in online.
Encourage your child to tell a trusted adult about anything that feels unsafe or concerning.
Report harmful content to the platform and avoid sharing videos that could encourage others to imitate it.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe. We wish your family a safe and restful fall break.

Ms. Shelofsky’s Level 5 class did a “chalk talk” this morning! Students shared their notice and wonders about “A Spy Called James”—the new book they started reading in their Arts & Letters module about the American Revolution. In a chalk talk students share and connect their ideas through writing—no talking is allowed! Ms. Shelofsky was amazed and so proud of how well they did!
