🔜 HAPPENING TONIGHT, WALK-INS WELCOME: Circle of Fathers is a free support group from Denver Human Services. It's helped Denver dads like Jeremy: "As a father and partner, the Fatherhood group has been very welcoming and helpful to me, going through an extended rough patch. The in-person connection is a nice change from so many individual and family therapy sessions. The host and other dads are great listeners, sounding boards, motivators, askers of tough questions and advisors. I have good people around me, but it’s hard to match the forum that the group provides," says Jeremy. "And I’m happy to be there for the others as well."

80205) is currently closed today (Tuesday, October 13), due to an unexpected internet outage. Food, cash and medical assistance, as well as Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) services, will not be available in person during this time. It is anticipated this location will be back open at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14.

Denver Human Services will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day, however child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines will be taking and responding to reports. To report suspected child abuse or neglect, or the abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an at-risk adult in Denver, call the Denver County Child Welfare and Adult Protective Services hotline at 720-944-3000. To report suspected child abuse outside of Denver, contact the statewide hotline1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437). To file a mandatory report of suspected elder abuse for an adult 70 years and older or the abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000.

Federal changes are coming to Colorado’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado. Starting Oct. 1, some immigrants who currently qualify may lose full coverage — but many people will not be affected. If you are, you’ll receive a letter from Health First Colorado before anything changes.

What to do now, before Oct. 1:
◽️ Update your information at Colorado PEAK (co.gov/PEAK), the Health First Colorado app, or your county human services office.
◽️ Use your coverage now — schedule medical, dental, and behavioral health appointments and refill prescriptions.
◽️ Watch for official letters and respond to any you receive.
◽️ Visit or contact Denver Human Services for help reviewing your case. And go to denvergov.org/immigrantsupport for additional community resources.

🇺🇸 Coffee with a Vet is here! ☕🍩Denver veterans are invited to join our Veteran Services team—many of whom are Veterans themselves—for coffee, donuts, and light snacks at the Bill Daniels Veteran Services Center on October 13 from 10–11 a.m. This monthly meetup offers a relaxed space to connect with other Veterans and learn about resources available through Denver Human Services and our community partners specializing in Veteran Services.

Circle of Fathers is a free support group from Denver Human Services. It's helped Denver dads like Hunter: "I figured it'd just be another group where everyone talks past each other, but Instead I found guys who actually got it. There's something about sitting across from other dads who've hit the same walls I have — the exhaustion, the doubt, the moments you don't feel like you're doing enough — and just saying it out loud without having to explain yourself first how much you value being a great dad. I've walked away with real ideas I've actually used at home, but more than that, I stopped feeling like I was figuring all of this out by myself."
