Did you know that pregnancy is a protected class in the state of Colorado in employment? The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act makes it a discriminatory or an unfair employment practice if an employer fails to provide reasonable accommodations to an applicant or employee who is pregnant, physically recovering from childbirth, or a related condition. This protection is provided by the Colorado Civil Rights Division(CCRD) under the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA).
In Colorado, employees are protected from adverse employment actions, such as being denied employment, denied promotion, fired or subjected to harassment based on their pregnancy status, being in a state of physically recovering from childbirth, and having related conditions, such as gestational diabetes.

Did you know that marital status is a protected class in places of public accommodations in the state of Colorado? It is illegal to deny to an individual the complete and equal enjoyment of the services, products, facilities, accommodations, and advantages of a place of public accommodations based on their marital status.
Places of public accommodations include any business open to the public, government buildings, public transit, and any other group providing goods or services to the general public. The protected class of marital status also provides protection from discrimination whether someone is single, separated, divorced, engaged, married, or widowed. This protection is provided by the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act(CADA). CADA is enforced by the Colorado Civil Rights Division(CCRD).

Repost - Governor Jared Polis 5/29/2026
We need to do more to reduce utility rates in Colorado and ensure reliability. The Public Utilities Commission oversees the safety, affordability, and reliability of Coloradoโs energy and transportation systems. HB26-1326 helps improve the PUC by increasing transparency, strengthening protections for Coloradans, and expanding Coloradoโs leadership in clean, low-cost energy that saves people money, creates jobs, and protects our air.
I want to thank the sponsors of this important legislation: House Majority Leader Monica Duran, Representative Jenny Willford, Senate Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez, and Senator Lisa Cutter for their work to help build a stronger energy future for Colorado.
