Thank you all so much for your amazing contributions to our 12th Annual Thanksgiving Giveaway. This truly is a neighborhood like no other, and I am beyond grateful to live and work in a community that’s brought me to tears (of joy!) on so, so many occasions. Your thoughtfulness, kindness and unwavering support and generosity is immeasurable. I appreciate you all so much. Many of you dropped off — or mailed donations — anonymously, so I didn’t get the chance to say a proper “Thank you” in person. Thank you! My heart is full because of all of you. -- Lori ❤️

Hi neighbors!

I’m looking for one or two volunteers on Tuesday, November 26 to deliver Thanksgiving boxes to senior communities in Westminster. This is what our annual Thanksgiving giveaway looks like: 450+ boxes, more than 10,000 pounds of food and sloping tables from all the weight!

On Monday, we start packing boxes for elderly residents living at six low-income community centers; on Tuesday, we start packing 150 boxes for Smith Elementary School families; and on Thursday, we pack boxes for our food pantry families and other in-need individuals and families. To all of you who have donated food items and grocery cards, contributed financial contributions and/or volunteered your time, THANK YOU!!!!!! We are SO grateful. 💕

Time is running short, though, and we’re still in dire need of yams (we need another 400 cans of yams!!!!), canned cranberries and $25 grocery cards, which we give in lieu of turkeys (alas, no storage space for turkeys). We also need pies...lots and lots of pies — for two, for four, for six, for eight! Our office (2823 Fairfax St.) is open every day next week, and we’d love to have the majority of donations in by Wednesday.

Your contributions, whether in-kind or financial, are instrumental in making our Thanksgiving giveaway a success, and we truly can’t do it without your support. Thanks so, so much, everyone!

Hello neighbors!

As many of you know, Greater Park Hill Community, Inc.
does a huge Thanksgiving giveaway each year. This marks our 12th year!

We distribute nearly 500 Thanksgiving boxes to our clients, other in-need families, 150 Smith Elementary School families and numerous low-income senior communities. And we’re in dire need of donations this year. Our biggest needs are canned yams, boxes and bags of mashed potatoes and grocery cards in $25 denominations. We don’t have the capacity to store turkeys at our office, so in lieu of those, we distribute grocery cards (King Soopers, Safeway and Walmart) to ensure those we feed can purchase a turkey or another protein for their Thanksgiving table.

This is shaping up to be our largest Thanksgiving giveaway in more than a decade, and we would SO appreciate your donations. Thank you so very much for supporting your community! ❤️❤️❤️

Our Story

We are a 501c3 non-profit Registered Neighborhood Organization and emergency food pantry. We are supported by membership dues, and annual fundraisers such as the Garden Walk in June and the Park Hill Home Tour in September. We also publish the Greater Park Hill News, and operate an emergency food pantry on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am-1pm (client choice) and a free farm stand on Mondays from 10-1 . Current proof of Park Hill residence is required, such as a utility bill dated within 30 days, and photo ID for adults, ID for kids such as an insurance card or birth certificate. We would love donations of canned fruit, meat, and fresh produce, dairy, bread and toiletries.
