The dispatch center for the Denver Paramedics is housed in the Denver Combined Emergency Communications Center, alongside the Denver Police Department and Fire Department dispatchers. All of the Denver Health Paramedic Division’s EMS dispatchers are certified in the use of the Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) system by the National Academy of Emergency Dispatch (NAED). Nearing the end of National Telecommunicator Week, we take a moment to say thank you! Thank you for being there in someone’s worst day, assaults and deaths, to someone’s best day…helping bring a new life into the world. Always try to remember the good days. Thank you for all the in between. Thank you for the times callers think you are not helping.. where you actually have everyone responding with lights and sirens. Thank you for repeating that help is on the way, even though the are screaming to get someone there. You are seen and so vey much appreciated .💙🧡

Baby made a grand entrance on the way to the hospital, turning an ordinary day into an unforgettable story. When the doula realized things were moving fast, she called 911, and together she and the call taker kept everything calm and steady until help arrived. It wasn’t the birth plan anyone expected, but it became a powerful reminder of courage, teamwork, and the incredible strength of this new little family from the very start.
