Marines in the Reserve go through the same intense training and work in the same Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) as their active-duty counterparts. However, with the ability to train part time with a Marine Corps Reserve unit near home or school, these Marines can continue to pursue a full-time civilian career or an education.

The All-hands Pool Function: First Steps On The Path

This past weekend, U.S. Marines and Poolees gathered on Buckley SFB for the annual RS Denver all-hands pool function. Throughout the weekend, poolees were face to face with drill instructors from MCRD San Diego and Marine reservists from CLB 453. Those who participated quickly learned that the journey to becoming a Marine is marked by endurance, discipline, and the forging of unbreakable bonds.

MOS Mondays

Ready to dive into the diverse world of Marine Corps MOS roles? Every Monday, we'll shine a spotlight on different Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) to give you a glimpse into the incredible variety of opportunities available in the USMC.

Today we are highlighting the 0631 MOS: Network Administrator

These Marines are responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) essential for command and control operations. Their duties include configuring routers and switches, ensuring cybersecurity measures are in place, and installing network components. Additionally, they establish technical control sites, conduct fault analysis, perform circuit testing, and troubleshoot end-to-end network issues. Network Administrators in the Marine Corps play a critical role in ensuring secure and reliable communication infrastructures that support operational readiness and mission success.

🌟 FLEET FRIDAY 🌟

A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, is staged during flight operations aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17), Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (IWO ARG), as part of Amphibious Squadron 8 (PHIBRON 8), 22nd MEU Integration (PMINT) exercise while underway in the Atlantic Ocean, April 8, 2025.

PMINT is the 22nd MEU’s first opportunity in their pre-deployment training program to fully integrate with PHIBRON 8 while at sea, allowing Marines and Sailors to train together as an ARG/MEU team across various functional areas in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
