The VIPS program seeks first-rate volunteers to take on tasks in partnership with the men and women of the Denver Police Department serving the citizens of the Denver Metropolitan area. We seek to provide volunteers with rewarding and challenging positions, which enhances the capacity of the Police Department to make Denver a better and safer city. In 2016, 251 volunteers gave 26,272 hours to the Denver Police Department. The value of these hours equals $618,968 in savings for the City and County of Denver. Since the beginning of the VIPS Program in 2004, volunteers have given 421,106 hours, totaling a savings of more than $9.9 million.

Our volunteers rolled up their sleeves and teamed up with officers to give every DPD vehicle a fresh look — one bumper sticker at a time.
From peeling and prepping to placing each sticker just right, they turned a simple task into a productive (and surprisingly fun) assembly line. The fleet has never looked sharper!

Big thanks to volunteers Alexis and Lukas for jumping in during the final push to get District 6 settled into their new space!

Denver VIPS joined other agency volunteers to help support this year’s CANVAS Hero Fest 🎉 — greeting families, handing out swag, and engaging with the community at every turn. Our volunteers jumped in to help with scenarios trainings for the State Patrol that keep troopers’ skills sharp and ready for anything. These trainings are always a blast, and volunteers love being part of the action while supporting safer communities.

Thinking back to 2019, when our volunteers took the time to expand their skill set by completing a Stop the Bleed class. Each participant walked away with a certificate and, more importantly, the confidence and knowledge to potentially save a life. Grateful for moments like these that strengthen our readiness and commitment to helping others.
